The power of persuasion works in both ways. You can persuae others, but others can also persuade you. The later happens a great deal without even your conscious awareness, but alarmingly it also happens WITH your consious awareness due to something called ‘conformity’.
By learning about the ways in which we are easily persuaded we can stand guard against being influenced by other people, media nand in fact many forms of influence.
We can on the flip side learn the art of persuasion in order to be more effective in relationships and business. Knowing how to get others to see and accept your point of view has its obvious advantages.
